• Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India.
• The Scheme is effective from 1.12.2018.
• Under the Scheme an income support of Rs.6000/- per year is provided to all farmer families across the country in three equal installments of Rs.2000/- each every four months.
• Definition of family for the Scheme is husband, wife and minor children.
• The entire responsibility of identification of beneficiary farmer families rests with the State / UT Governments.
• The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
• Farmers covered under the Exclusion Criteria of the Operational Guidelines are not eligible for the benefit of the Scheme.
• For enrollment, the farmer is required to approach the local patwari / revenue officer / Nodal Officer (PM-Kisan) nominated by the State Government.
• The Common Service Centres (CSCs) have also been authorized to do registration of the farmers for the Scheme upon payment of fees.
• Farmers can also do their self-registration through the Farmers Corner in the portal.

Announcing the economic relief package, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 8.75 crore would be deposited in the farmers account.

In the first week of April, the first installment will be deposited to all the farmers involved under the scheme.

People all over the country are currently facing problems with the Corona virus. In view of this problem, various packages are also being announced by the government. In the same order, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaram has made a special decision keeping in view the farmers coming under the Prime Minister’s Honor Fund.

Under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which was launched from February last year, farmers are given assistance up to Rs 6,000 annually.
All the states and union territories of the country other than West Bengal have benefited. Under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, the target was to reach 14 crore beneficiaries in the country.

But a total of 8.75 crore farmers have joined the scheme in the country during the one and half year period.

The first installment of Rs 2,000 will be deposited in the first week of April in the account of 8.75 lakh farmers under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
